USA setting records for new cases, meanwhile is Australia

Australia’s second-largest state, Victoria, once the country’s COVID-19 hotspot, said on Friday it has gone 28 days without detecting any new infections, a benchmark widely cited as eliminating the virus from the community.

it’s a shame we didn’t approach things right. We could have been in such a better place right now.

We should send the military to do door-to-door searches of the infected so we can ensure people are staying home. Ruin their lives if they don’t comply.

It’s just an island and almost nobody lives there.

it is an island, and outside of sydney and perth has low population density.

What are you talking about? Even the worst of our politicians did well enough to earn an Emmy.

At least they didn’t lock them up, which I guess would be the next step.

Article was back in March and Australia is largely irrelevant compared to the rest of the world, so I don’t know if they went tougher than $1kAU fines or telling citizens to ■■■■ off and die overseas if they traveled against their masters’ demands. lol

yeah, as if any “ring of steel” would be tolerated or legal here.

and thats just travel restrictions. others included only one visitor at your home per day. but they did it “right”.

Good for them. Prayers for continued success.

I wonder what happens to those who don’t pony up.

We should have done that with NY and NJ back in the day. Maybe shocked some people.

"The spread of the virus was only contained after a lockdown lasting more than 100 days, leaving some 5 million people in Melbourne, Australia’s second largest city, largely confined to their homes.

While the lockdown has seen infections wane, it slowed Australia’s economic recovery from its first recession in three decades after large swathes of the country’s economy were shut down in March.

Australia’s economy shrank 7% in the three months to the end of June, the biggest quarterly decline since records began in 1959. The unemployment rate hit a 22-year high of 7.5% in July as businesses and borders closed to deal with the coronavirus. "

And after all that, in a few months they will have the vaccine, just like the rest of the world.
Then they and Pelosi and everyone else can go to all the Chinese restaurants they want…and get their hair done.

If they did, Cuomo may never have beaten bin-Laden’s record, earning an Emmy in the process.

Well, we do have people here in the US that will cry like a little baby at the thought of wearing a damn mask, so it would seem this country went to the other extreme.

“Why won’t you just let the government run your lives this one time???”
