Actually the original Star Fleet Logo was based on a NASA Mission patch.
They borrowed heavily from NASA and the US Military including using the name “Enterprise”.
A two way street, even better.
Well considering the USSF is combining the military and NASA military related space programs it’s just logical and fitting.
I believe the constellation on the right is O’Ryan’s belt. Don’t quote me on that though.
I have also heard humans have evolved from bacteria that have travelled across the universe on asteroids and stars…highly unlikely but that might the the significance of that symbol. Don’t quote me on that either.

This was done as a Trump photo op. Nothing more. We already had a section of the Air Force overseeing space operations. And what happened when the Space Force was created? They changed their uniforms. The whole thing is a joke.

not a fan of the name. But in the air force we were all “airmen” but no one ever called us that because “airman” was also an enlisted rank. I wonder what rank structure they use.

Army, AF, and Marines all had crossover into “space”. Consolidation under a single force actually made sense.
Of course, now everyone is a Space Cadet… .
This is no different than splitting off the AF from The Army in 1947, it was time then and it was time again when the Space Force Command was created.
