Agreed. However, it remains to be seen whether or not the country further slips into anarchy. The allied gangsters and Bolivarian fanatics have strongholds across the country.

Wow. I never noticed that difference between those countries and some of the other countries where communism was overthrown.
Under capitalism there was still a healthy middle class, even if there was some disparity, it wasn’t shared poverty. Expropriating property for the government, ie. socialism, is stupid. Socialism led to its downfall. As usual in Socialist/Communist countries, the leaders enrich themselves, and poverty ensnares the population.
Socialism didn’t lead to the downfall, it was the crashing oil price it the same reason why Alberta in Canada is going though a ruff patch.
Alberta is going through a rough patch, but people most likely have toilet paper. There are many countries that have oil as the preeminent product, but have not been affected. Saudia Arabia people are not having the same problem as Venezuela.
Venezuela has been going downhill ever since Chavez came to power.
It would be great if Maduro would just give up. If he doesn’t, there can be bloodshed. I just hope the military refuses to go along with him. Let Cuba or somebody else take Maduro and his henchmen, and give this new guy a shot and get this country out of socialism and get a new chance
