They’ll probably try to throw in everything including the bathtub and kitchen sink.
Not according to the only people whose opinion matters.
You are wrong.
Then by all means show us exactly what it is he did to earn the nomination much less the award itself.
Read what the Nobel committee had to say. Their opinion matters.
You made the statement, support it if you can.
Also - btw - there is no “case law” at all regarding the Emoluments Clause.

What “statement” was that?
(I understand that you were not responding to me. But I would suggest that you re-read the post you were responding to.)

Regardless, I believe the initial claimant was the one who said Obama hadn’t actually earned the Nobel prize. That would be … you.
So you can’t, thanks for clearing it up.
It cannot be demonstrated that he did anything to earn either the nomination or the award. It’s not up to me to prove a negative.
Whether he “earned” it is a matter of opinion - and your opinion, in this case, does not matter. The only opinion that matters, in this case, is that of the Norwegian Nobel Committee.
No one here is obligated to convince you that he did earn it.

Lolololol. I did provide evidence, the only evidence that actually matters.
Welcome back, WR! Those nits weren’t picking themselves.

You haven’t provided anything to support the contention he did anything to earn it.
If you’re going to argue against my position yes, it’s up to you to support your argument.
He is under no obligation to do so.
The Norwegian Nobel Committee decided that he deserved the award. They are not answerable to you, or me, or anyone else.
I’m not arguing against your position.
I am saying that your position doesn’t matter.
I don’t think Green Book deserved to win Best Picture.
And yet, that opinion of mine doesn’t matter. They still won it. It’s not “fraudulent” just because I disagree with it, because I’m not the one who gets to decide.

Did you not bother to read the link that I provided to the Nobel committee’s announcement?
Yes and it’s laughable, he did absolutely nothing to earn either the nomination or the award.
What major peace deal had he brokered? Did he end a war anywhere?
These are all questions that you should direct to the Norwegian Nobel Committee.
When they start posting here I will.
