Depending on who you ask, anyway. Maybe they’re just getting some much needed PMCS done. lol
Military equipment should have some internal homing device on them where we can just send a missile and it finds it’s target…and who ever is in it.
That’d be pretty cool. There are supposed to be anti-tampering mechanisms in most of the computerized equipment though, so we’ll see (or probably not) how well those end up working out. There were billion dollar contracts involved, after all.
You’d hope that we have some sort of a back door, to decommission that equipment left behind. The future will tell?
Certain sensitive parts are supposed to destroy themselves if they’re tampered with.
You’re more plugged into this. How about keeping us civilians informed in the future regarding the equipment left behind?
Maybe. I still have until October 8th of this year of looking through photos that turned 10 years old “on this date”. They end with me holding my son for the first time.
All this sloppy pullout nonsense is getting in the way.
I wish you well my friend and thank you so much for your service and sacrifice for all of us.
The only solace I can find is that China Pakistan Russia already have this technology base.
The sheer volume of equipment left is staggering.
Hopefully it will stay in Afghanistan…mostly.
The humvees and night vision goggles bother me the most.
Understand that we had to equip ANA well…not that well.
Don’t worry about the HMMWV’s, everyone knows they’re death traps. They’re worth more for their metal than anything else.
