These these troops may not be going to Syria. But it does help focus on Syria where Trump said he was bringing the troops out of Syria when in no way has this happened. Fact. Bragged about pulling the troops out of Syria. So that hasn’t happened. We’re still there guarding Syrian oil fields for some reason. I know why. Trump focuses on simple things like oil so when he declared we were leaving someone said what about the oilfields? To stop him from pulling completely out of Syria. Trump latched on that. Syria never produced a lot. .5 of one percent of global production before the war. But he doesnt know that. So we’re still keeping 1000+ troops there to protect these oil fields. As an attempt to still keep some influence there after Trump randomly pulled our forces away from the border sacrificing our Kurdish allies and handing everything that we helped SDF build over to Russia, Iran, Assad and Turkey.

If you’re going to make the claim he hasnt’ moved any troops out of Syria you should be able to provide the documentation to that effect.

Personal experiences, conversations etc cannot always be documented.

So according to your article there is a residual force remaining to prevent the Kurds from again facing the possibility of slaughter at the hands of the Turks and that they are resuming combined ops with the SDF.

I’d call that a good thing.

He also seems to be saying that we did withdraw, and then moved back in as a result of the Turkish campaign to essentially ethnically cleanse the Kurds from along the Turkish border.
