United States government takes 10% of a private company

Right see you put qualifiers that’s where there has to be an admission that he is fiscally liberal to some extent.

Also yes vaccine. He got booed at his own rally for promoting it. And yes it’s liberal in our times. Weirdly. I think that speaks pretty loudly about the world today

This is an excellent position. Not sarcasm.

I do not see where cutting programs that help low income folks, all the while cutting taxes for the wealthy is liberal.
It is not today’s world, it is the RW version of Ameica. with corporate America owning the majority of the media that dominates the narrative.

i do appreciate your agreement.

Honestly, it would have been hilarious to see Trump try that tact back when Andy Grove was CEO. I began my first serious job with IBM towards the end of Grove’s tenure as CEO. I had the Intel account for a couple of years during that time period - they didn’t screw around. Grove relished a fight. They had the attitude back then that they were going to crush anyone who got in their way. I could legitimately have seen Grove telling Trump to go ■■■■ himself. He was known for just that kind of confrontation.

do you think the company would have needed a bailout under his tenure?

What happened with vaccines where the United States government took stakes in companies?

Or are you talking about authoritarianism? Then yes

Yes all those things are bad. That’s from column A.

Wow a whole bunch of folks are suddenly becoming counter revolutionary. Even the Chairman can turn people off I guess.

If I fail to sound adequately upset at this latest move,
it is not because I am okay with it.

it’s just that I see this ■■■■ everwhere
from stadium ownership
to owning the airports and harbors
to the Fed printing money
to the Fed intervening to (artificially) prop up home prices (see below)

After a while my “upset” button doesn’t seem to function as often as it used to.

What is lefty from Trump during this term?

10% stake in Intel (socialist-like)
$1,000-per-child Trump Accounts (welfare-like)
Advocating lower interest rates (Keynesian)
Proposed Sovereign Wealth Fund (socialist-like)
Pharmaceutical price controls (interventionist)
Limiting food dyes and pesticide use in food policy (progressive-like)

probably more but those come to mind.

Trump at his core is a populist. Not ideological.

Yeah i have to go with this isnt a great idea. The government will drive it into the ground just like the post office. I never liked the idea of government involved with private enterprises.

Why would anyone be against it? Computer chips are a national security item.

Check the post right above yours

I asked why would anyone be against it. I did not say nobody was.

We seemed to do alright in WW2 without taking a 10% stake in oil companies, steel companies, etc.. Pretty sureteh British did not either.

Are things worse now, than they were then?
Have the laws of economics stopped working?
