Question for those who know…I thought of it when Camp suggested the FBI get involved.

Swatting is still not a specific federal crime, right? I mean, there are federal statutes one can call up and charge someone with, and I know in 2015 there was a bipartisan bill brought up to make swatting a federal crime, but it hasn’t passed yet, I don’t believe.

So FBI can’t get involved unless a federal statute is invoked…and I don’t think such a statute can be invoked for every swatting case.

Happy to be corrected on this one.

PS D’OH brain cramp! Greene is a federal official…is any crime against a federal official automatically a federal one?
