Turkmenistan wins

Yes, that was an accident, not planned. We know better now and so does China, difference is, China doesn’t care. We had a plan to bring it in safely, China didn’t have any such plan here.

Did the plan succeed?

Did it all burn up before it hit the water? Or was this not technically a lie because it didn’t hit the ground?

The report I read said it crashed into the ocean. Look where it could have hit instead.

from Debris from China's Long March 5B rocket crashes back to Earth in Indian Ocean

There was a tiny chance that the debris could have hit New York, Los Angeles, Madrid, Rio de Janeiro, Beijing or the Nigerian capital, Abuja.

After finishing the Chernobyl series last night… no one should be using old Soviet tech that’s more complicated than the AK-47.

I imagine that rockets build quality wasn’t any better than a RBMK reactor.

Difference is that the PRC didn’t even have a plan. Or even try.

The alert to the world was “well we honestly have no ■■■■■■■ idea where this thing will land. But that’s not our problem.”

Another consequential difference was that the Chinese rocket landed in an ocean, part of the USA Skylab landed on land in a foreign country.

Yeah we ■■■■■■ up. We tried to deorbit in a manner that didn’t land on foreign territory. It failed.

That’s a bit different than the ChiComs.

Purely a matter of chance. The odds were 2:1 that it would fall into the ocean.

One did; one didn’t.

Both had the same odds.
