Does it bother me that you are attempting to rewrite history by mealymouth blaming black people
I guess as much as any random internet poster would⦠which is very little. I just worry that what you insinuate is more prevalent than I once assumed

After the riot started, were the black citizens within their rights to fire at white rioters for riding around in Greenwood?

You seeā¦this OP is doing nothing than stirring the pot. Thereās nothing to gain but it represents the liberal MSM mission to divide this nation. There are a zillion things that donāt happen but are not an indication of anything. If this is something to be remembered annually, do it. Get off of your butt and make it big. Unite us behind it. There is much of our nationās history that isnāt memorialized each year, so thatās where itās up to each of us, if itās important to us, to do so and nothing more. Thatās how a FREE country works. Why try to divide it over this, instead of choosing to unite us behind it? Thatās very SMALL thinking.
I call it, āstinking thinkingā.

I donāt understand the question. After the riot started⦠it was all out war. You donāt know where shots are coming from and the people in that community were being attacked by an army of armed white men.
Iād say they were defending themselves, so yes?

Iām not going to play your denial game.
Tyler Childers bluegrass song āLong Violent Historyā plays on the memories of that massacre and the white reaction to racial violence today.
Itās called me belligеrent, itās took me for ignorant
But it aināt never once made me scared just to be
Could you imagine just constantly worryinā
Kickinā and fightinā, begginā to breathe
How many boys could they haul off this mountain
Shoot full of holes, cuffed, and laid in the streets
āTil we come in to town in a stark ravinā anger
Looking for answers and armed to the teeth
30 aught sixes, papawās old pistol
How many, you reckon, would it be, four or five?
Oh, would that be the start of a long, violent history
Of tuckinā our tails as we try to abide?

Thanks for bring that back upā¦I was hoping to see a response but was disappointed. Thatās why I said interesting.
I understand Blacks thinking they lynched a White person that they wouldnāt hesitate lynching a Black person. Which bring it back to why they were reading themselves for a fight.
