I highly doubt it…they were going to go with justice that had a pedigree. To satisfy that certain element.

if trump wins reelection the supreme court wont matter. trump has already shown that the rule of law doesnt apply so i expect and court decisions to be ignored.

Ummm…listing who you would consider for the supreme court is very much a policy oriented act.

Which final rulings of the supreme court has Trump ignored?

Wasn’t kavanaugh missing from both of his lists in 2016?
Thank you for your honesty. Anti-anything is rarely a good thing; it implies there is nothing but hate. If you are going to be anti-something you need to have a plan in place to replace that “something.”

“Red meat” for you; excellent for me. Now we just need Mark Levin.
I believe judges should be scholars, not activists. They should be able to think deeply and inetentionally about legal matters, for their decision is used as a template for future cases. They interpret the law. They will keep a mob-like legislature from getting out of control. It’s time to restore checks and balances.
Do you think the Hyde amendment should be abolished?

Sure. I also don’t want Mr. Cotton anywhere near the bench.
Then you should be for overturning Roe v. Wade as well.
Roe v. Wade is a vague interpretation of an assumption in the 9th amendment. No where in the Cinstitution is abortion spelled out as a right. The Hyde amendment is actual law. If one should be repealed because of being unConstitutional, then it shold go for the other as well.

Then you’ll be happy to hear that the controlling precedent on abortion isn’t Roe but Planned Parenthood v. Casey and has been for almost thirty five years.

I think the addition of Cotton, Cruz and Hawley to the Supreme Court list are simply red meat for the base just prior to the election. And to drown out Woodward’s stuff.
No to Cruz.
No to Hawley.
Hell no to Cotton.
Amy Coney Barrett is the only name that really matters at this point, pre-election. If Ginsburg was to unexpectedly die right now, Barrett is the nominee, period.
If Trump was to win a second term 80% to 90% that Barrett is the first nominee for any vacancy, whether the former occupant was Ginsburg, Breyer or Thomas.
The fact that a lib would say no, no, and hell no just means those guys would be fabulous picks!
