That’s quite a thing to get wrong, to claim that the president was somehow lying and that the fbi was not in possession of items they reportedly were not allowed to take without a separate warrant.
Glad to see you guys defending all of this though.
It’s funny.

Let’s see you prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the current POTUS didn’t declare them re-classified on or after 12:01PM January 20th 2021 using the same process that the FPOTUS used to declassify them.

So… in this version of reality… a President can just think to himself that something is declassified… like casting a spell and it is all of a sudden declassified and we should all treat that document that it is declassified even though no one actually knows it is declassified?

Pretext self flagellation.

I believe I already pointed out that would remove intent.

But if he just does it in his head, it’s not declassified!!!
You are Michael Scott!!!
FPOTUS did it mentally without telling anyone at the time.
The same process Biden used to re-classify them once he became POTUS.

So then it isn’t actually declassified. To declassify something REQUIRES remarking. If the document is not remarked then it is considered classified at the current level.
Probably an expired personal, a personal (blue), and diplomatic (black).
I used to have two personal (blue) and official (brown/maroon).

You’ve gone totally around the bend.
“Your honor, in my mind I declassified those documents. And that’s all that really counts.”
“Your honor, I killed that man because in my mind, he was a threat. And that’s all that really counts.”

True for peons, not for Presidents.

Trump is no longer President.

Just another principled conservatives explaining the authoritarian nature of the presidency, where by the POTUS isn’t required to follow lawful procedures, and only need explain what he wants to be true for it to be so.

It is all that counts, he can’t have intent if he is the ultimate authority on what is and isn’t classified. He believed he had the power to declassify, which he did, that’s enough.

Maybe. But if that was all there was to it…storing unauthorized materials…wouldn’t the DoJ be essentially done with the case and be willing to share the affadavit?

He also believed he won the election!
Which I guess you do too!
He also believes he doesn’t have tiny, tiny hands!
I mean, what the actual ■■■■ man?
You think he is above the law!
Too ■■■■■■■ funny.

You did. You where shown to be wrong.
It may have removed intent during the prior to the initial contract by the NARA in Feburary 2021, however it actually PROVES intent to retain government propert after being informed that he was in possession of government property and classified documents and then refused to return them.
Intent is shown by 18-months of negotiations, a grand jury subpoena not being complied with, and finally only getting the all the documents back by execution of a search warrant and the government confiscating it’s property.
Mistake made in the chaos of Janaury 2021? Sure. Return the documents no harm no foul.
20-months of illegally keeping property after notification? Proves intent.

And the current POTUS would have the power to re-classify.
