Trump Will Declare a National Emergency

So?

The fat man said he wouldn’t play golf if elected. He plays more than anyone, and now plays in his house? Does he ever not play?

Bad things were done in the past, Roosevelt was guilty of many of them and the courts failed to do their job. It didn’t change the fact that the act was unconstitutional on it’s face.

As for Garad Jama what happened in the end?

9 months of hell.

I wont vote for a republican either never again.

No, try again. What happened in the end?

Republicans and conservatives won’t be able to say they weren’t warned. Repeatedly.

"The simple fact is that failing to get the budget you want from Congress isn’t a national emergency, regardless of how much you invoke national security and talk about invasion. And it is palpably obvious that most of the people cheering the news aren’t relieved that a pressing national-security threat is about to be averted. They’re cheering because they see this as a political triumph for the president. Again, the lack of a political triumph for a president isn’t a national emergency.

Meanwhile, this is a long-term gift to progressives. They hate the Senate’s legislative filibuster and now they have an easily exploitable precedent to declare an emergency when some future Democratic president doesn’t get what she or he wants from Congress and invokes the exact arguments already being used to justify the Green New Deal."

Well they’e just flat wrong. If a civil war in Sierra Leon that doesn’t threaten a single American life is a “national emergency” the ever growing crisis on our own border certainly is.

Some folks are just going to have to suck it up and get over the rash.

Is this some sort of ends justify the means thing? He had 9 months of hell, but in the end his rights were restored, so everything is OK? I guess those internment camps weren’t so bad since everyone got their freedom back in the end?

Why were his rights restored? Because the gov’t acted unlawfully and unconstitutionally to begin with correct?

What’s your point? My initial reply to you in this thread was against your argument that constitutional rights can only be taken away if there is compensation or during times of martial law. That is not the case.

Then you perhaps need to go back and reread what you were overreacting to since it’s incorrect.

Certainly.

The real national emergency is for climate change. Once Dems take over they’ll have free reign to fix it.

Yes. Your old “Boom! We win” thread was exactly that.

You’re only underscoring the need to declare a national emergency

Cannot wait for this declaration. And then, DEMS can get back in power and suspend the 2nd amendment, carbon emissions and private health insurance.

This is completely inaccurate. You do act like you have your position backed by a strong understanding of things. But you didn’t even understand the rules around a joint resolution of Congress. So I don’t know that your word holds any weight here until you first address that other issue and admit you were wrong.
