Just give them tax credits.

Why not both? Government money is faster. Our competition does it.

It’s not The American Way.

I will add no/low interest loans for capital.

I disagree. Lots of government money has already been spent to distort markets for the sake of national security. History will undoubtedly see the CHIPs act as another smart move.

It’s not a bottomless well.

What are you willing to cut?

Wouldn’t that depend on:

How much revenue will be generated through corporate taxes and income taxes from employees directly from the company?

How much revenue will be generated through corporate taxes and income taxes from employees indirectly from company customers and from secondary businesses?

Wouldn’t even worry about it until we weren’t dependent on chips from China.

At least critprogs are consistent.

Wasn’t there a president in the 80s who ran up the debt for the sake of security as well?

Once we decouple, we can just yawn and look the other way when Taiwan gets run over. That’s gotta be worth a few trillion dollars in savings by itself.

Like Ukraine?

It is the mindset of a petulant child to spend without considering the consequences.

Certified Reganomics. Consequences fully considered.

Ukraine is a bargain. Taiwan will not be.

Have a nice day.

sorry, i’d rather buy chips from taiwan while the industry decides for itself whether making them here is a better long term supply fix than become (more) fascist to force the issue. free market.

Biden is a mere cypher. He didn’t need to campaign. Big tech, the deep state, Hollowwood, Dem activist ballot-harvesters, and the yellow legacy media were campaigning for him and dialing down the Republican volume. Biden had nothing to do with his own election apart from getting in his own way. But his campaigners listed above were able to have enough influence to drag him over the line.

“One of the things I’ve learned in this job: When you’re leading and getting things done, you take incoming fire. That’s just the nature of it,” he said. "What you learn is – All that’s just noise. What matters is: Are you leading and getting in front of issues? Are you delivering results for people and standing up for folks? If you do that, none of that stuff matters. That’s what we’ve done. We’re focused on results and leadership. At the end of the day, I’d tell people to go check out the scoreboard from last Tuesday night

Looks like a good strategy for DeSantis for right now. Just ignore it and say look at the scorecard. Of course- Trump is gonna throw some crazy low blows that will be hard to ignore down the road.

I bet you will be hard pressed to find any serious forum “Lib” that is against decoupling.

What you will have seen is several people stating that there are those that advocate decoupling who have been among the loudest to yell when we did our Russia decoupling.

And that decoupling was half hearted at best and even if fully done would cause far less short to mid-term economic dislocation than decoupling from China would.

We now have at least two to three generations of Americans who have been conditioned to believe any economic pain is bad and we must be completely shielded from it.

So the doubt is in the societal will to go through with decoupling.

Trumpin’

Great strategy. The adult in the room. Proven policy record. Spends his time working to improve the life of his constituents, not beefing with everyone on social media.

Crazily enough, Joe Biden showed the proper skills from escaping the Double Bind that Trump is a master at utilizing to seize and maintain control of he narrative.

Desantis has some of those same skills.
