Microsoft owns Google? Wow, the things you learn on this forum!
There is a long-time poster here who actually believes that.

The court ordered microsoft broken up, microsoft appealed, the DOJ settled with only the requirement that they provide information for third parties to develop software…and Netscape died.

Seems like most of the arguments here are over whether any of these companies are or are not monopolies. That is what a probe is supposed to determine.
When it is done and conclusions are reached, that is the time to argue.
You have different point of view about investigations in the Kavanaugh thread.

Actually, I said that I saw nothing wrong with an FBI investigation if it could be done in a couple of weeks and did not delay until the election.
You said this:
“The time to bring this up was at the hearings. Without absolute proof, its over. You can’t sit on it and then expect the delay.
First of all, there could have been questions asked and others asked. No, just like in a trial you don’t wait till its over to play your hand.
There are no more hearings and the FBI is not investigating.”

Yes I did. In another post someone said it would only take a week or two. I then replied that if it could be done that quickly I could see nothing wrong with it. I know what I said. If you care, then read through all my posts for the last week or so and you will come across it.
And I was obviously quite correct…the FBI is not investigating.

Maybe Netscape should have made a better browser. Also, Netscape still exists as a company.

Which orifice did you pull that out of? And was it yours?

No, there is no Netscape company.
Idiot Boy just doesn’t know when to quit, does he? I’m not a praying person, so I’m wishing on a meteor the Dems take over Congress and investigate the ■■■■ out of him.

A previously undisclosed report by staffers at the Federal Trade Commission reveals new details about how Google Inc. GOOGL -1.63% manipulated search results to favor its own services over rivals’, even when they weren’t most relevant for users.
In a lengthy investigation, staffers in the FTC’s bureau of competition found evidence that Google boosted its own services for shopping, travel and local businesses by altering its ranking criteria and “scraping” content from other sites. It also deliberately demoted rivals.
AOL bought Netscape in 1999, then Verizon bought AOL in 2015. There is no “Netscape” company anymore, it’s just a brand.
I don’t see the problem. It’s Google’s platform. They own it.

Ah you’re right. I knew Netscape still existed as an ISP, I didn’t realize AOL was running it as a brand, rather than a subsidiary.
AOL doesn’t exist as a company anymore, either. It’s also just a brand now.
“Oath:” owns both the AOL and Netscape brands. Oath: is a subsidiary of Verizon.
Oath: also owns Yahoo!
