Media Matters has been around for more than a decade…I’ve only heard the term “fake news” popularized for oh, the last two years or so.

Ms. Attkinson is right on the money here. Yes, there was a concerted effort to marginalize many websites – perhaps even to some degree this one – because of all the inconvenient information that was starting to come out about Hillary Clinton (and the establishment generally). There was/is an effort to clamp down on dissenting voices. Voices that might cause trouble for the powers that be. This effort at back door censorship was launched officially in late summer 2016, with the “fake news” narrative.

I’m familiar with Media Matters, and with Sharyl “Obama spied on me!” Attkisson’s work.

The point remains, no one had ever heard of fake news, or accused the mainstream media of being the purveyors of same (usually it was called fawning coverage of Obama) until Trump and his cult of true believers came along.

There is an official investigation into Russian meddling with our last election. There is a question about whether Trump’s campaign cooperated with the Russians. That is a fact.

The MSM is reporting on it, because it’s a big story.

The fact that Trump has stated “No collusion” 5 million times does not change those facts.

When Muller comes out with the results of his investigation we will know more.
