I kind of outlines it before. Governments started treating Jews as an ethnicity quite some time ago. Soviet government even identified them in passports as being different from Russia. I also posted a picture from the genetic test 23 and me which specifically identifies ashkenazi Jews as separate from say Western Europeans.

This thread is incredible to see the lengths posters are going to so that they can excuse away Trumps (once again) completely stupid and retarded comments.
Telling Jewish-Americans they are disloyal for voting democrat is not something any President of any political persuasion needs to be saying. Even if you are a Trump supporter can you not accept that this is not the type of verbal discourse we want from the office of the President.
Whether or not he meant disloyal to Israel or the US he certainly meant they were being disloyal in some way. You cannot parse away the word “disloyal”.
Is he trying to shame Jewish Americans from not voting democrat? Is he really saying that depending on your ethnicity or religion you should vote for one particular party?
Every time Trump says something stupid his supporters start to split hairs and we have a long diatribe over race/ethnicity etc.
Trump does not put that much thought into what he says, it is a case of constant verbal diarrhea with that man, he is not a wordsmith by any stretch of the imagination and he doesnt have the intellectto play clever word games but he knows his supporters (no lets be honest they are cultists) will go to incredible lengths to explain it away.

Correct. It’s also a culture, ethnicity, philosophy, etc.
One can be Jewish and follow Torah.
One can be Jewish and be an atheist.
One can be Jewish and be Hindu.
One can be Jewish at birth.
One can convert to Judaism at 50.

This is a critical point. So much of the discussion on racism on this forum, and now the discussion of anti-Semitism as well, features members of the majority asserting that they can overrule any and every claim of racism or anti-Semitism based on…
- Superior wisdom?
- Superior insight?
- The desire of members of the majority to control the discussion?
Take your pick.

is one of them Trump?
because if not, that is irrelevant
long diatribes come from democrats, media and the leaping ninny left over every little thing trump says or does. then the narratives come from the same people to shape and distort what he meant (usually into something “racist”)
one day perhaps all of them will finally realize he is unique in that he actually says what should be said.

So it should be said that American Jews who vote for Democrats are not being loyal to Israel?

Thats what the poster just said so it must be right

So Jews are disloyal needed to be said?
Curious- Was thinking about this. You and @WuWei have been saying what Trump said is in no way, shape or form Anti Semitic because - well - To be honest im still not sure what your reasoning it as you haven’t really presented any other explanation. I think it basically centers around the fact that he hasnt actually said the words “I HATE THE JEWS” or “I DON’T TRUST THE JEWS” But regardless -
You have also claimed that the REAL antisemitism came from Talib and Omar. Now -Im not about to defend those 2. But can either of you provide a direct quote from them where they said something like that? Based on your rules - saying “Jews are disloyal” or “Jews are money people” or “Jews home country is Israel” is NOT anti Semitic. So what quotes have Talib and Omar said that are anti Semitic applying that same logic?
Dems lower taxes and fight every gun control measure?

Left out this one:
“Equal right to have their own opinion over whether name calling is justified.”

I would agree with that except for the last sentence.

I’m in agreement with you.

You have an equal right to speech of course, but in matters of law greater weight is given to knowledge. Your claim to equal knowledge of the form and impact of anti-Semitism is highly dubious.
