The senior author of my textbook, who lived in the States, moved back home to Jerusalem about 10 years ago. He is in his 90s. His professor was Enrico Fermi at the University of Chicago. Twice he met Albert Einstein who preferred to talk to him about Israel than his research. As a 16-year old, he was a member of the Haganah. His wife’s father was one of the first ministers of education in the State of Israel. As I have related previously on this board, I can tell you he does not always support Israeli policies.

No not mad about the high taxes necessarily. Just the fact that they gave another corporate giveaway at my expense. Trust me its gonna hurt them in the end. I’m not the only one.

The vast majority of people got a tax cut, I am sorry you didn’t but, if you want to use that metric than you have to consider, you are outnumbered and it helped, not hurt him, simply because many more people got a tax cut than an increase.

It’s a parliamentary system with a prime minister. The party in power basically has the run of the joint. It’s not like here.

Im gonna take a deep breath and try another avenue. I am going on a risk that 90% of the posters on here are NOT Anti semtic. So im going to try to explain why, as a jew, this comment really bothers me. I hope people will take a deep breath and read it before reacting.

1- Saying Jews are “Disloyal” has been used time and time again in history to isolate and get people to turn on the Jews. From Egypt in biblical time, to ancient Rome, to Russia under Czars, to Germany. “Jews are not us. They are disloyal. dishonest, stupid” has been the rallying cry of every anti-semtic world leader ever. Now -I actually DON"t think that was Trumps point or belief. But its why its going to trigger a major negative reaction.

2 - To add to that point -Trump, and some posters here actually hinted that American Jews who vote for Democrats in a American Election -are disloyal to Israel. The message is still clear -“Jews are not us. They aren’t American. They are part of Israel, not America.” It not just this time - he has said it before. He told American Jews on a Hanakuah party at the white house that “YOUR country” loves me. He doesn’t seem to understand that Jews were here before this was a country, and American belongs JUST as much to us as anyone else. We ARE Americans. THIS is our country.

In general I consider the Democrat party to be disloyal to the USA, and anti-Israel. Any Jewish-American who votes for Democrats would be disloyal to both.
