If the Supreme Court agreed with law as applied and a fair jury picked from a balanced, representative pool, found he was guilty, then I might not agree with the decision but I would write it off as the system has spoken. If Smith wins with his predetermined jury that would find Trump guilty of being Trump, then no, it is not legitimate.
It is amazing that despite all evidence to the contrary that you believe that anyone can walk off the street and be identified as an alternate elector and then congress can confirm this.
