The fact that we are bigger is not an excuse as to why the disease is spreading out of control here.
This mortality rate that is cling to is meaningless if the rate of infection can not be gotten under control.
Sure, there is a slight percentage less of people not dying because of improved treatment, but more people are getting sick here than other nations… so more people are going to die.

then look at the rest of the industrialized world. We have a lower case fatality rate than all of it except the most geographically isolated states. The combined deaths in europe as compared to the US are pretty close to even. they are having spikes in every sector of the economy they attempt to open. as they open further, there will be more. there is nothing that can be done to stop it other than a vaccine. more people are being tested here and cases are being discovered. The rest of the industrialized world went back to testing only symptomatic people about a month ago. There are fewer dying because the median age of the infected is lower and the most vulnerable are being protected from cuomovirus.

We are the freaking United States of America. And making excuses for us having over 150,000 dead Americans should be beneath us. We should demand more and better from our elected leaders.

Name some other countries that have this large of a spread between their population total and their global casualties. Go ahead, show us how much better we are than so many other countries here. Over 150,000 dead Americans is not a fantasy. It is reality. COVID becoming the 3rd leading cause of death in America is not a fantasy. It is reality. - South Korea - 51,640,000 people. 0.7% of the world’s population. 300 deaths. 0.05% of the total casualties.
Nothing could have been done, as shown by every other industrialized, first world nation on Earth having the exact same troubles and outbreak we are having. Right? Wait…that doesn’t sound right.

I blame him for his failures in combating the virus, which has led the United States to a place where we have about 4% of the world’s population and 23% of the world’s casualties from COVID. We have the 4th highest deaths per 100,000 out of the most populous countries, and the 10th highest deaths per 100,000 in the entire world. That is failure that will be written about and discussed for generations. Trump will rival Buchanan for the title of Worst President Ever.
Seeing as how Trump has done NOTHING to punish China for what they unleashed on the world, it would seem you believe he is also being paid by the Chinese Communist Party? Not too mention the glowing things he has said about China and Xi in regards to this very crisis.
And all of those studies said transmission was low…but not impossible. Every time someone says we know this or we know that this disease say ■■■■ you to all of us. So if you want to bank on that go ahead Ben. I understand your hanging on that. I’m a bit more cautious than you I guess.

We have 4.3% of the world’s population and 23% of the world’s casualties from this pandemic. There is no other nation even remotely close to us when it comes to absolute failure in addressing this crisis. None.
We are ranked 10th highest in the entire world in deaths per 100,000. Out of the entire damn planet. We are the only developed nation that has failed to flatten the curve. We are the only industrialized nation that has been restricted from traveling to almost all of the rest of the western world. We cannot even travel to the Bahamas.
We are barreling towards 250,000 dead Americans by the end of the year from this virus. Literally lapping the rest of the world in deaths. Every single metric shows Trump’s failure. Trump is the Chief Executive. He is a danger to our country. He. Must. Go!
The choice is clear in November. Keep a total failure in office and watch tens of thousands more Americans die. Or remove the clear and present danger and go a different direction. America or Trump. I’m choosing America.
