Trump Openly Threatens To Revoke Intelligence Official Phillip Mudd's Security Clearance

Just watched former Intelligence Official Phillip Mudd become totally unglued and weird while debating wonderful @PARISDENNARD over Brennan’s Security Clearance. Dennard destroyed him but Mudd is in no mental condition to have such a Clearance. Should be REVOKED? @seanhannity

I think if he goes through with this, serious problems could follow. We all know trump is using this as a tool to punch back his political foes. Stripping them of a clearance they don’t really need is an effective way to send a message without impacting national security. He clearly believes he is in the right to take certain means necessary to punish individuals that frustrate him. I just worry this doesn’t stop at clearances.

As Chief Exec he has the lawful authority to revoke anyone’s clearance for any reason or no reason at all.

So he is asking Hannity if he should revoke it. Nothing disturbing about that at all.

He could just have a long talk about it with his dog like many other presidents have done in the past.

Whether you like what he’s doing or not he has complete authority to do so as POTUS/CE.

I am not arguing that what he is doing is illegal. I believe his reasoning on why this is justified is to ambiguous and It may motivate him to take larger and harsher steps against his political foes. Steps which could seriously hamper the first amendment.

Legal and politically damaging are not the same thing.

I worry he will consistently look for ‘legal loopholes’ to harm those who speak out against him.

“Politically Damaging”?

As though this is actually cost him votes in the future? Really? It’s not like this is some new character flaw being exposed, it’s who he is and always has been and the country elected him with full knowledge that he is a bully that got where he is through threats and intimidation.

We got exactly what we expected.

Not one single Republican denouncing this crap, bunch of cowards.

So you don’t have an issue with the President doing this for the sole reason to attack people critical of him?

Good, You can run on that in 2020.

Its not damaging the GOP love this crap they love abuse of government for personal vendettas, Trump said he might take over the Mueller probe today and everyone was like “That a good idea”.

That is because the Republican have sold out every single one of their values to gain the WH they no longer give a ■■■■ what happened to the “Tea Party” and the “Social” Conservatives.

You really want this to become standard in our government?

You realize that Trump wont be president forever right?

Like eventually an evil lib will be in the WH again…

I have no problem pulling the clearances of anyone who no longer has a legitimate need for them and certainly not for those using their former positions to undermine the current administration.

There is no right to a security clearance period.

So your find with the President attacking American citizen for being critical of him, will you also be fine with that when the President is a Democrat?

You dont seem to have a problem for a president to do it arbitrarily either…

Nobody is being "attacked’, there is no right to a security clearance at all.

These individuals are using their former positions in the intel community to undermine the current gov’t for political purposes and are being justly stripped of their access as a result.

Really what political purpose did Philip Mudd push by giving an interview.

So your okay with the U.S government attacking private citizen who are critical of them, will you also be fine with that when Democrat control the White House and Congress?
