That would be good vote insurance. Your in-person vote should take precedence over any mail-in vote purporting to be yours. There are serious risks of your mail-in vote being commandeered by someone using your ballot, or blocked by someone intercepting your ballot.
On the other hand, civil unrest may prevent you voting on the day and suppress your vote if you don’t use mail-in.

If the system works as safely as Dems are asserting, you should only get one vote counted.

I doubt we get any of that in my county which is 70 percent red as of most recent Census, but i intend to do the early voting rather than wait till election day anyway.
