Could be counting that first shooter who was a registered Republican though.

One has to question those results. If their (PBS Newshour) presentation of the responses is correct, the only two choices were “strongly agree” and “strongly disagree” with only a smidgin of people choosing neither. Surely the American people are not that polarized on the issue.

Definitions matter. What occurred Jan 6, 2021 was by definition an insurrection … “a violent uprising against the authority of the government.”

And I agree, nobody was trying to overthrow the government; there was no coup attempt.

No. An insurrection is against government authority. For example, the ranchers (the Bundy incident) who stood up to BLM with violence over land use complaints were insurrectionists. They had no intention to overthrow the government.
