“The President just called me yesterday afternoon.”

“And he just said ‘hey, what do you need?’”

“He offered that if there’s other things we need, just to call him directly, which, I appreciate that.”

He showed up with several trucks filled with emergency supplies and equipment and a couple of tankers filled with gasoline…

Pretty valuable photo op for those people who need help.

As long as everybody understands it’s a photo op

Good for him for offering help in a disaster state

Thankfully Georgia is a swing state otherwise……. If it were a blue state……

Yes it’s photo op…but it also puts pressure on Harris/Biden to offer relief faster does it not?

Did they not? The aid was released before or after the visit?

Franklin Graham was there (Samaritan’s Purse) and others were there as well.

Biden couldn’t leave the beach this weekend and who the hell knows where Kamala is.

FEMA is already there, as they always are after a natural disaster. In his first formal remarks since the storm’s landfall as a Category 4 hurricane Thursday, Biden called Helene a “catastrophic” and “history-making storm.” He said he has directed federal agencies “to provide every available resource as fast as possible to … communities to rescue, recover and begin rebuilding.”

The scale of Helene’s destruction and the urgency with which federal agencies are hoping to respond is mounting new pressure on Congress to approve billions of dollars in disaster relief money, days after lawmakers left for their preelection recess without appropriating any new disaster dollars.Biden mulls calling Congress back to pass disaster funds - E&E News by POLITICO

The relief is there, of course.

Personally…I think Biden should call em back. IMO this is precisely reason for federal government. Not banning gas stoves and IC vehicles or spending money for Ukraine.

That’s my two cents worth…
