Didn’t know you are that young. I remember Nixon and Watergate well, they were nothing compared to what is happening now. But recall, we fought a civil war and recovered from that.
However, I am counting on reality to dispel the derangement that has gripped a larger percentage of the population than is normally the case.
Usually the lunatic fringe is around 10-15 %. Apparently its in the 20th percentile range today.
But emotional outrage and delusion can’t be sustained forever without supporting events.
As the economy improves the lives of the deranged, and they begin noticing they have freedom now that would vanish if their desire for bigger government is acheived…the numbers of the deranged will drop to historic (managable) levels.
The left are like Islamists. As long as they are a minority its fun to have them around. But there’s a point when their numbers becomes a threat, they become totalitarian. Murderously so history proves.
Before you hurl the usual slander about Islamophobia. History indicates why Muslim countries like Turkey, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon etc fought mightily so that one Islamic sect doesn’t control the government. Many strive for “secular government.” The reason is elementary, when one sect takes over they are just like leftists, totalitarian bigots who murder those who resist their decrees.
