Agrees to never seek public office again

House Confinement for 2 years is all he will need to serve.

Biden also agrees to drop out of the '24 race, since he is only doing it to stop Trump.

Who agrees this is the best of all outcomes?

Sounds reasonable but don’t forget the NY state court case. I expect that to have a similar outcome to the charges to the Trump Foundation.

No one is accusing Trump of Espionage, that is simply the name of the act and it encompasses many different crimes. One of which is willingly removing classified material and obstructing their retrieval.

I could live easily with the jury going either way. Any punishment should be way below those possible because this was no threat to national security like the prosecutor pretends, it was just Trump not letting anybody tell him what to do.
And we would still have the issue of selective prosecution and weaponization unless Biden is charged for hiding similar documents for a longer time, which were taken when he wasn’t even President. (And yes, they could delay prosecution until Biden is no longer President)

I don’t think there was any malicious intent on Former President Trump’s part.

I do think something needs to be done to stop EVERYONE who is mishandling classified materials that have nothing to do with actual presidential records. It’s a serious issue that shouldn’t be relegated to what is right and wrong based on the initial behind someone’s name.

You are right, but the word espionage is prominent in the political rhetorical attacks by the left. That’s the point … people are accusing him of espionage regardless of what the DA has charged him with.
