I think you may read too much into it. The case revolved around someone rejecting a pardon. They could simply say nothing as there is no overt act needed to “accept” a pardon.

If Safiel is reading too much into it then from everything I have researched indicates a majority of legal experts are also reading too much into it.

But everyone is entitled to their opinion on the guilt or innocence of an individual.

that is the point, ‘rejecting’ a pardon may be a self declaration of innocence, but has zero bearing on legal innocence. The guy who rejected it was still found guilty. accepting a pardon may imply guilt, but remaining silent implies nothing. A person may maintain their innocence and simply not oppose the action of the pardon. Only by rejecting the pardon is any affect incurred.

My prediction is Trump is found guilty on this and several other charges and trials, although I cannot imagine he will be imprisoned. House arrest sounds more likely.

Ideally, I would like Biden to offer Trump a deal.

Trumps pleads guilty
Agrees to never seek public office again
House Confinement for 2 years is all he will need to serve.
Biden also agrees to drop out of the '24 race, since he is only doing it to stop Trump.

Who agrees this is the best of all outcomes?

Not sure I agree with your thought exercise and ultimately if someone is pardoned, they will forevermore be known as the individual that committed a crime who then received a presidential pardon.

Its not as if everyone magically forgets that Nixon was guilty of the crimes he committed or that he resigned as a result of this.

The Ford pardon of Nixon precluded what is happening with Trump today. Nixon’s roll in the Watergate cover up could have just as easily resulted in an acquittal as a conviction, regardless of whether he resigned or was impeached and removed. The point is, guilt was never established nor admitted in his acceptance of the pardon.

What people think following a pardon is no different than what they think following a jury acquittal. Take OJ Simpson for example. Public opinion on such proceedings is highly variable, flighting and has no bearing on legal opinion. In other words, let 'em eat cake.

Sounds reasonable but don’t forget the NY state court case. I expect that to have a similar outcome to the charges to the Trump Foundation.
