BTW- this admission that Russia worked to influence the election has been bookmarked.

You mean like us spying on Germany in 2014? Merkel has been trying everything to reverse the British vote to leave the EU.

And it’s true as the OP said Germany does get a lot of its gas from Russia and most of the EU countries outside of a few western ones don’t even want sanctions on Russia, like we have.

Give it another decade the way the voting is going Europe will be mostly right wing.

We remember Uranium One very well, but are bored with the phony “scandal” the CEC has ginned up about it.

For the zillionth time. Uranium One was a deal in with a Canadian Company sold its stake in a US mining operation to Russian investors.
The Russians bought no uranium, since export of Uranium to Russia is illegal. They bought the profits and losses of this mining operation.

Given the sensitivity of uranium as a material, the Commerce Dept. convened a committee of nine departments to review the sale. This included the State Department while Hillary Clinton was Secretary of State. State Department procedure holds matters at this level no significant enough to be reviewed by the Secretary and there is no evidence that Hillary Clinton was aware of the deal. All nine departments approved the sale and it went forward.

What critic wants us to remember is a reinterpretation of these facts that goes: HILLARY CLINTON SOLD OUR PRECIOUS URANIUM TO VLADIMIR PUTIN!

I remember that too, but I also remember that such hysteria has no basis in facts… its just one more meme that gets repeated. Unlike a good wine, it does not get better with age, it just gets more boring.

I am sure that it will continue to be cited as an example of Hillary Clinton’s perfidy. It would be nice to have some examples that can be documented.

Merkel is a Globalist. Trump is an Economic Nationalist.

That is the difference.

Also… this issue has absolutely zero to do with Germany’s military spending.

And what has been documented is that Barack Obama asked the Republican leadership to take a bi-partisan position on election interference because he did not want to be seen as interfering to influence the outcome for one party or another. Mitch McConnell refused to cooperate with Obama and that is what stopped Obama’s action.

Party always before patriotism – one of the mantras of Trump supporters.

Yeah. Just like the yellow vests are pushing France more right wing

Yes Germany currently gets their gas from Russia, this just makes it cheaper for them. Germany does back extending sanctions (unlike Trump) so I fail to see the relevance.

All sides were back then.

" Socialist Venezuelan Government Clashes With Labor Unions"

It will never sink in.

Welp, Cratic lost the argument. Went to his ol tried and true,

Like clockwork

Because it’s hilariously, astonishingly irrelevant?

He sure does have a fetish for Venezuela bless him

FDR fought the Nazis that’s didn’t make him right wing. And at first… Hitler /Stalin pact…

What argument was that?

The left loves to hide from it’s repetitive history…

The one where we all were discussing Europe and gas pipelines and Russia and Trump sticking his nose in Germany’s business.

Then somehow, the discussion pivoted to Venezuela.

When you say “the left”. do you mean all of the left? Some of the left? I am curious where myself and other forum members would fit in there. Could you please clarify?

Can’t remember? Are you kidding? It’s at the top of the play list whenever we need a laugh.

It’s always there for comedic relief.

Like any Monty Python reference or that chocolate factory scene in I Love Lucy. The Uranium One cobbled-together conspiracy is quite nearly the apotheosis of comedic construction, certainly the peak of unintentional humor.

We have certainly not forgot.
