Trump endorsed candidate loses New Jersey senate primary

While Glassner had the support of Donald Trump, Bashaw had the support of most of the county Republican parties in the state, which are particularly influential in New Jersey, meaning he secured the county line in a majority of the counties in the state.“

hard to believe new jersey republicans reject an election denier and goes mainstream in their candidate. no senate republicans for the last 50 years
maybe Bashaw will upset the applecart.

would not surprise me in the least if he upsets Kim.

What we learned in the midterms is that voters in swing states and blue states don’t want MAGA/Trump candidates.

Interesting race.

It could also be that he outspent Glassner 3 to 1 with his own money. Both were pretty much self funded.

Bashaw is also in the hotel business. I will suggest he will seek and gain the Trump endorsement in the general.

Who ever it is, as long as it’s not another D in a party dedicated to destroying this nation.

In other words, nothing important actually happened except for another lame excuse to get in some Orange Gayzing this morning.

I was trying so hard to be nice to the swarm.

After Menendez, I wouldn’t be surprised if the GOP wins in NJ this year.

I wouldn’t either.

NJ does elect Republicans on a pretty consistent basis.

If Bashaw can stay out of the minefield of being against abortion he has a good chance to win.

According to Bashaw:

That price is that you may have to live next to somebody you may disagree with. The “Golden Rule” says to do unto others as you would have them do unto you. If you do not want to be told what to do, then we should not tell our neighbor what to do.

I believe the same rule should apply to our government. Our government should not be able to tell us what to do in our lives!

hes pro choice. this is from a WNYC brian lehrer radio show from the end of May.

“Curtis Bashaw: I believe that abortion should be safe, legal, and rare. I believe that the Dopp’s decision rightly remanded it back to the States. Democracy is working itself. New Jersey has decided its view. I believe that the government shouldn’t be in our homes telling us what to do on some of these very personal decisions. I believe those are the choices that should be left up to the families and the people involved.”

Since when is “safe, legal, and rare” and “it’s a state issue” the pro choice position?

I’ll grant it’s not an “abortion is murder” position, but safe, legal, and rare and states choice is currently what pro choice is fighting against, not for.

A blue state Romneyesque Republican, such as is running in Maryland, still gets a Republican majority in the Senate.

Does the RNC know that?

Lara Trump Denounces Larry Hogan
The GOP co-chair follows her father-in-law and puts family loyalty above winning Senate seats.

Hogan had the temerity to say, “I urge all Americans to respect the verdict and the legal process. At this dangerously divided moment in our history, all leaders—regardless of party—must not pour fuel on the fire with more toxic partisanship.”

What a jerk!

Crooked Donald jumped in and endorsed a candidate to replace Mike Gallagher and that guy is going to lose too.

Crooked Jr was in Wisconsin last night to hold a fundraiser for that candidate and probably put the nail in the coffin for him.

NJ hasn’t elected a Republican senator in almost 50 years.

Yeah, but we elect GOP govs.

Could happen with the stink Menendez has put on the seat.
