For the liberals, it makes it unsafe for women. In UK where it has been law, women shelters, the result has been men claiming transgender, have raped women. Women don’t even want to go to shelters,
It makes it unfair for sporting events, for girls, who must compete with transgenders, for example the boy who turned into a ‘girl’ and broke a weightlifting record.
It forces parents to accept treatment and lose custody of their kid if they don’t go along with it,

Why would we want to bring this to the U.S. with a new federal law?

This law would also make it illegal for religious organizations to only provide adoptive services to married male and females, and force them to provide to homosexual parents. LOts of grounds to be against this

The argument I hear is that it will trample religious liberty. As in, it prevents “religious people” from discriminating against LGBTQ people.

The Democrat Party Leadership despises rights associated with property ownership, and this bill is another attempt for folks in government to manage private property under the guise of sexual deviant rights.

I agree. “Society” through the use of government threat and use of force has taken over ownership of private property while maintaining the illusion of same in order to keep us paying taxes and pacified.
