A couple of my staff genuinely believe this and will not believe that we’re going to be wearing masks at work at fifty percent capacity until next summer minimum and that assumes a vaccine is ready by March. My biggest worry is that capacity is going to get cut to twenty five percent again in the obvious upsurge happening and it’s cold now so no outdoor seating.

I know people who also think that Covid will go away after the election. I think it might be by next summer, but not right after the election.

I normally travel a lot for work. In the last couple of months as things seemed to be getting better I traveled a couple of times for meetings where it was important to be in person. So Southwest, Marriott, and Avis got a bit of my company’s money. With the covid situation raging again I told my work I’m not going to do any traveling for the time being.

I think that we are going to see a new normal come out of this. Companies are realizing that the work can get done with employees working at home and teleconferencing. However there is a downside. Think of all the office space that won’t be required in the future. There might be some commercial landlords that are going to experience their tenants cutting back on the space they need. And as you eluded to the airlines, hotels and car rental companies are certainly going to take a long term hit. And downsizing is going to lead to a new unemployment problem.
