It’s transparently a distraction from the Mueller probe, which is not going his way, as well as the departure and revelations that Don McGahn was cooperating with the probe, as well as the SDNY also about to bring charges against his team, as well as his horrible mismanagement of McCain’s death, but I think he really picked China because they’re the only country with the teeth to push back on his tariffs in a meaningful way.

Neither one is lying.
Pretty straightforward when you think about it. The Daily Caller story lays out a case stating the ICIG found evidence of an intrusion and then warned FBI officials. Please show me where the FBI debunked that claim. The simple one line statement by the FBI simply says that the FBI found no evidence the servers were compromised. That in no way debunks the underlying Daily Caller story.
There is evidence.
No there is not.
These two statements cannot both be true.

Peek is parsing the FBI’s language to death in order to make it a non-denial denial.
Peek thinks it means the FBI is saying “Well, WE didn’t find any evidence, but we’re not going to say some other group didn’t. Nod nod wink wink”.
But this is a distraction. The Daily Caller story laid out some items that should be very easy to prove or disprove. So Trump should be able…without revealing anything sensitive…information that shows the FBI knew what ICIG “found”, along with some evidence they actually “found” it, and put this to bed.
My guess is what will happen instead is simply more innuendo that the Deep State is simply covering up because they hate him.
So there will be more tweets like this, and more stories from right wing sources that could be easily confirmed…but never will be.

So it’s okay if CNN cites one source before running with it as a story, reporting it as fact, but it’s not okay if Daily Caller cites their source and does the same?
The FBI is not the only organization capable of determining if there was a hack. And already, bad actors have surfaced within the FBI (strzok) as positioned and motivated to hide it.
Why do you disbelieve the Intelligence Community Inspector General (ICIG) but believe the FBI?
When the ICIG comes out and talks about what they found, we can talk. At this point in time, all we have are Gohmert’s ramblings.
So when do we get around to prosecuting Gohmert for revealing classified information?

The ICIG hasn’t said anything so we can’t believe or disbelieve them.
There is nothing to parse. The Daily Caller article is focused on the ICIG findings. The FBI addressed only their piece of the pie. In no way does the FBI statement address what the ICIG might or might not have found.
Then why are Trump-haters claiming the FBI debunked the story?
Because the report says they passed the information onto the FBI and the FBI says they have no idea what Gohmert is talking about.

But the problem was that it was going to an unauthorized source that was a foreign entity unrelated to Russia. And from what you have said here, you did nothing more than nod and shake the man’s hand, when you didn’t seem to be all that concerned about our national integrity of our election when it was involving Hillary Clinton.
So, the forensic examination was done by the ICIG – and they can document that – but you were given that information, and you did nothing with it.
Should I just take Gohmert’s word for it?
