We are responsible for the way we choose to treat desperate people seeking aid. When they come here and are met not just with indifference, but this type of outright cruelty, that should be considered a national disgrace. Or at least it would be for those who hadn’t traded in whatever basic decency and sense of empathy they may have had at one point because trolling “libs” was more important to them.
