What does shooting a gun in the air have to do with the thread topic?

God is mad.

Are you accusing me of being the one bringing “shooting a gun into the air” into this discussion? Or will you also hold the others talking about this responsible too?

Maybe you should as OldandTired that introduced it to the thread?

Just a thought.

My property my rules. My neighbors property his rules. Unlike leftist I don’t tell him what he can can’t do on his own property. I also don’t spy on him like a good leftist. The reason I have good neighbors is we all mind our own business.

This whole “I have unlimited freedoms” thing is asinine.

Oh no…a person contracted COVID even though he was wearing a mask.

Obviously this one event proves masks are useless.

Just like a good leftist blaming me for starting something I did not do. Maybe you need to go back and see which leftist said if someone shot a gun in the air they would be arrested.

I personally haven’t seen that in grocery stores.

I require masks to enter my business. I’ve been asked by my employees to do this because they have loved ones at home that can be compromised. Personally? I don’t care about masks.

However, I recently had a couple come in saying they didn’t have face masks. Kind of like an I’m challenging you attitude.

So, one of my employees handed the couple a face mask. Of course, we provide them.

They played some games with it, keeping it under their chin, etc. I watched from my office and eventually stepped in.

I told them to knock off the attitude, put it on or leave.

My house and my rules. In my house be respectful or get the hell out. I’m not concerned about them being offended. Nor do I care about having their business.

The bottom line is, I set conditions. Places that have requirements shouldn’t be afraid to enforce them.

Places that do not have the requirements should not have patrons trying to make rules or enforce rules for them.

Where do you see a question as an accusation?

My apologies, I failed to follow back far enough.

BTW - I’m not a leftist. Thinking Trump is a bad President isn’t limited to those on the left nor to Democrats (for those thinking that may be two different things). I’ve voted a GOP candidate in every election since 1978.

Damn those meddling libs who instituted speed limits in your local school zones!

Or, if off topic don’t contribute?

Just a thought.

How would they get on my property when there is one locked gate to get in and out. If you are on my property than you are breaking the law and trespassing and I would have the right to detain you and have you arrested.

Or, it shows masks don’t make one immune as has been suggested repeatedly in this thread.

No it has not ever been suggested that masks make one immune to COVID.

I doubt it was just libs. Sounds more like something all sides agree on and was instituted.

So, the “all of this could have been avoided if they wore masks” argument is only somewhat true?

Keeps people from widely dispersing an airborne pathogen.

If you choose to believe the hyperbole is stating a fact, then sure.

Nothing is 100% effective, but in populations where masks are employed almost universally, statistically significant effects on transmission rates have been seen.

And now that we have strong evidence this pathogen is what is scientifically called “over-dispersed”, meaning it spreads stochastically in clusters, masks combined with distancing in situations where we know clusters happen become even more important. And having masking as a standard policy to get people in the habit of wearing them makes even more sense since you can’t know ahead of time who will be a super-spreader.

Again…this is without a doubt the stupidest culture war ever.

Being asked to mask up in a pandemic is NOT another stepping stone to complete eradication of freedoms and a slide into dictatorship.

Anyone who believes it is is being…quite frankly…ridiculous.
