this what I am talking about.

ALBANY – Federal immigration and border officials have been blocked from accessing New York’s DMV database, a move that keeps them from accessing data that can be used to help determine whether a vehicle owner has a criminal history or a warrant for their arrest.

I’m reasonably sure CBP doesn’t use DMV records to do their background checks for TTPs. Not 100% sure though.

If true…if this law does not hinder CBP from doing their background checks…lawsuits against what they have done will prove successful.

This is why decisions made solely to punish political opponents is dumb.

They never stand…and they waste time, energy and money…all of which could be put to better uses.

Sure I have an app on my phone I paid twenty dollars for that can access your court records in all fifty states but I’m sure this is stopping ICE.

Well actually, since New Yorkers enter through many places – what critic is really alleging is New Yorkers carry the virus.

And a huge percentage of New Yorkers fly in and out through Jersey.

I bet you were one of those kids who bought glasses to see through clothes thinking it would work.

Is this a joke? Court records are public information. And the DMV doesn’t keep records of yellow sheets or warrants.

No. It means like the petty dictator he aspires to be, he is punishing the citizens of a state that does not support him, and because he can rely on his supporters either being ignorant of the Constitution or not caring a whit about it, he thinks he can get away with it.

Textbook case of Trump dividing the country by the way.

No problem! You are free to vote him out in November. Most dictatorships don’t allow that. :+1:

I said he aspires; I didn’t say he succeeds. Trump aspires to dictatorship just as he aspired to be a casino mogul, an NFL owner, an airline operator, a for profit university operator, a water company mogul, a steak company mogul. He aspires to lots of things and fails at most of them. You are free to continue to vote for this failure if that is what floats your boat.

So should states that choose not to meet say… Real ID standards be afforded the same privileges as those who do?

How about carry reciprocity?

Citizens of the United States are entitled to equal protection under the law according to the Constitution. I keep hearing how all the Trump supporters love the Constitution.

The constitution clearly treats government entities and citizens very differently.

If you think so highly of the Constitution why is there so much aversion to enforcing it?

By the way, where is the notion of the privileges afforded a State defined in the Constitution?

I have no aversion to enforcing it. I’m just trying to understand how it’s being violated.

There are requirements, standards that must be met, are they being met?

There’s nothing to be protected from here.

TTPs are VOLUNTARY programs. They are a privilege not a right.

The suits that win will be the ones that point out New York’s new law does not prevent the CBP from carrying out the required background checks to grant TTP status.

Not equal protection lawsuits.

What requirements or standards for participating in the Global Entry Program are not being met by every participant who is a resident of the State of New York?

Seems like they may not be meeting the identity requirements.

Hammer…meet nail.

I like how you got that out of someone not actually answering it.

I like how you thought you did too and even used hammer meet nail like CJ in Brooklyn 99 uses “that’s gonna leave a mark!”

The federal government needs access to state records to verify a passport?
