I was referring to amnesty.

Who provided amnesty? And what does that have to do with the topic under discussion.
I raised a Constitutional issue concerning citizens who reside in New York State and the response of amnesty, crimes by illegal immigrants, sanctuary cities has been positively Pavlovian.
And on that narrow issue if New York is blocking required background checks for New York residents, then the problem is with New York in blocking background checks for all New Yorkers.
New York could have said we will provide background checks only on those that hold a valid Real ID complaint ID (since Standard - i.e. non-Real ID holders wouldnāt qualify anyway), but instead blocked all background checksā¦
Seems the problem will be the way New York blocked the security checks for a federal trusted traveler program. āTrustedā meaning āHey weāve checked this person out and their are OK.ā

Not the way Iām reading it, but weāll see where the courts come out on this one.

Yep, Iād appreciate you keeping up to speed on the issue. You are correct, weāll have to see what the courts have to say.
In this thread Iāve proposed two alternatives - one for New York and one for DHS as a way around the problem and that was with only a couple of minutes thought. You would think that lawmakers and DHS rule makers could have seen an alternative - if they had wanted.

From DHS : āNew York is the only state, that bears repeating, the only state that restricts CBP access to their DMV data across the board, not only for immigration purposes, but for law enforcement purposes, for customs purposes, but also for trade and travel facilitation purposes.ā
Maybe they should have Tommy show them how to use his 20 dollar app.
yea yes we know Fox News, DHS works for Trump, Trump bad

You raised and withdrew the constitutionality my friend. Then you claimed I was wasting your time.
The was I see it, ā(if) New York is blocking required background checks for New York residents, then the problem is with New York in blocking background checks for all New Yorkers.ā
Sounds like it is a sanctuary state issue.

If we believe the shift in the explanation of the action isnāt a matter of conveniently changing the story. Of course, a government agency would never do that, right?

Woof woof. Barking dogs at night. Irritations for those of us who rise early and work for a living.
It is still a sanctuary state issue.
According to whom? His political opponents?
Why are all his close foreign relationships with autocrats: Putin, Kim Jung Un; Ertugan, while he seems unable to strike a collaborative tone with any democratically elected leaders?
You have been watching too much CNN. Trying to bring these countries into the civilized world is not necessarily a bad thing. He should definitely try. Whatās the downside? Heās given them nothing in return. As far as democratic countries go, ever heard of Israel?

He gave them nothing? Youāve been watching too much Fox.
He gave Erdogan Northern Syria (at cost to our former allies ā the Kurds).
He gave Kim Jung Un international recognition no prior President had been stupid enough to give NK
He gave Putin a weakened Ukraine and relief from sanctions for specific preferred oligarchs.
And in return the US got NOTHING.
Seem they knew they would lose the lawsuit.
Ironically, with Trumpās COVID malfeasance, US citizens are now global pariahs, and not allowed to travel to Europe and other places, making the Global Entry program near useless.
