The President traveled to Canada Friday to meet with world leaders at the G7 summit in Quebec; defending his “America First” trade policy at the international meeting before heading to Singapore for his historic negotiation with Kim Jong Un.
The Commander-in-Chief vowed to promote his key campaign promises while meeting with global leaders over the weekend, saying he was looking forward to “straightening out unfair trade deals.”
“Looking forward to straightening out unfair Trade Deals with the G-7 countries. If it doesn’t happen, we come out even better!” Trump tweeted.
The President’s comments come after the leaders of Canada and France severely criticized his decision to enact hefty tariffs on steel and aluminum, with French President Macron warning the G7 could quickly become the G6.
