That’s why I said you and not me. :). Have you been in an Rv lately? Many of them put lux hotel suites to shame, that’s why for me, plus I like to hike. And that’s the beauty of an RV, you don’t have to drive all day if you aren’t in a hurry, drive as many or few hours as you like.

Good point.
I have not. My problem is I get motion sickness if I read in a moving vehicle, so in an RV I’m either driving or sitting in the passenger seat staring out the window.

Better stay away from VR and RV heh.

Yeah, I’ve always wondered how I’d react to VR. I’m sticking with my old-fashioned PS5 for now.

I never get motion sickness ever, but it was a close call in VR. There are stationary games and experiences though.

Multi-million dollar California estate? Given their sky high property values, we’d probably call it the wrong side of the tracks around here. I know my brother in law had a million plus dollar house there at one point, my pool house is better.
Track homes in good neighborhoods are at 850k-Mill I am sure your pool house is nicer not worth the same of course but I am sure its nicer.
Close to the beach stand alone starting is at 5 million, condo 2-3 million

I have the Occulus 2 and it does give me motion sickness after an hour, it also depends on whats running I was playing Half Life Alyx and the game has so much going on.
Sitting down however I have found that I do not get that same feeling of motion sickness

I keep up with real estate prices, I know. I’ll rent those views when I get the urge, stupid to pay for it full time in my book, status symbol. Thought about buying in that category but, why be tied to one spot when I can rent anywhere for less?

Depends, the way property value grows in California is like nowhere else in the country chances are you can cash out and make money on it mid to long term…or buy it use it then rent it out for a year or two and come back to it, real estate in Cali is always in demand rent or buy

My brother in law went upside down for like a decade, couldn’t rent it for anything near his mortgage, so he was paying like a half mill a year in mortgage there while living in Minneapolis. But in the end, he made a profit. Real estate hasn’t outperformed the market in a long time.
Up until 1990 the real estate market never did much more than inflation, that burst in 2006. I’ll stick with the market, any real estate I buy is for personal enjoyment, not investment purposes. If I was in real estate for investment it wouldn’t be houses. Although that airbnb thing looks profitable, my guess is the hotel industry will lobby it out of existence.
Overlooking the Pacific Ocean if you must know.
Went hiking yesterday at double peak in San Marcos. quite nice.
Tough life out here, back to the NYC grind next week.

Reps never pandered to Hispanics but they are the reason we keep Texas and Florida. Family values.

Absolutely. If a substantial number (not a majority) of Hispanics in Texas did not vote Republican, Texas would have gone California long ago.

“Family values” ? That’s GOP circa 2004.
He would get -5 percent if he ran as a Democrat. Now, I love his policies but he spurs on Democrats to come and vote against him. He is really hated by Democrats, partly because of his policies, but also because of his personality, braggadocio, and continuing to claim the election was stolen irritates alot of people. DeSantis would be despised, heck the left even went after milktoast Romney as a villain, but people have a visceral reaction to Trump that energized democrats that no one I’ve seen. It is best he stay in the background, promote his policies and let someone else take over the helm. DeSantis is Trump lite without the Trump baggage. However, I’m afraid of his ego, he won’t take a back seat and a race that should be an easy win for the Republicans, can turn to a loss. Biden has been and will continue to be a disaster. But in 2024 Trump still whining about how the election was stolen, would be a turnoff for lots of people, being seen as a sore loser isn’t enduring.

And Biden is now getting more unpopular in epic like fashion.

Reps and family values in the same sentence??
Yes, the dems used to laugh at the phrase.
