I’m seriously wondering if the now fired pharmacist had an aversion to dispensing Retrovir (AZT) as 70% of new HIV+ diagnoses are among men in same & bisexual relationships. There’s that other 30% who are needle drug users, prostitutes, & those like rape victims who get it, but male male sex, like making men like women and women like men, is a sin to those of Abrahamic faith.

I can respect, though, states’ rights if a majority of voters want religious exemptions available for religious professionals. Here’s the compromise—if such a professional wants to claim religious exemption, & doesn’t have the capital to start a business of their own, either hand the transaction off to an associate (already in Arizona law) or have a sign up saying (insert substance here) isn’t dispensed here. Sorry for the inconvenience.

The latter option will cost them customers, as others receive female hormones prescribed to them (to ease menopausal discomfort, for instance). As for having to look elsewhere being inconvenient it is.

However, CVS is the only option I have for other than mail order on my insurance, & one of their stores never had prescriptions I needed for relief meds (migraine), not for religious, but because (supposedly) not many come for those rx’s.

I finally got frustrated & asked them to find me a CVS that stocked them, which they did. It’s inconvenient for the customer, but, IMO, it should still be an option.
