Tracking the Coronavirus

We are more resilient than they. Excellent.

I wish the whole world was equally resilient. It’s too bad they aren’t.

It really is.

3/23/20. 8:19 am mountain

35,241. 473 dead. Up to 1.3%

Worldwide: 351,731 and 15, 374, for 4.3%

40,961. 485. Rounds up to 1.2%

As of right now, the CDC is reporting 33,404 confirmed cases and 400 known deaths on their website.

That is a 1.2% known mortality rate.

I had hoped this thread would garner more attention than it has.

Thanks for being one of the few reading this!

The Johns Hopkins website is my source. ArcGIS Dashboards

As of 1:25 pm.

41,511 affected and 573 deaths.

Rounds up to 1.4%

Today we are on our way to close to 20k confirmed cases in one day. Yesterday was 10k and Saturday was 5k.

Exponential growth is happening. This is happening even with LA slowing down testing

I’ve decided to add the top eight countries. To track how the virus is growing exponentially in each country. China seems to have it under control. Italy not so much.

As of 3/23/20
China 81,496. 3,274 dead. 4% rate
Italy 63,927. 6,077 dead. 9.6% rate
USA 42,817. 579 dead. 1.3% rate
Spain 33,089. 2,207 dead. 6% rate
Germany 29,056. 118 dead. 04% rate
Iran. 23,049. 1,812 dead. 7% rate
France. 20,123. 862 dead. 4% rate
South Korea. 8,961. 111 dead. 1.2% rate
Australia 1,682. 7 dead. 0.04% rate

This thread is one of the most informative. I don’t know if the CDC website numbers are simply lagging behind a bit, or if by the time they get posted a thorough whatever-they-do has been completed, but those will be the only numbers I post so as not to get other tallies mixed up with them.

There was a slight uptick in the mortality rate once already last week and it went back down the next day, so I won’t be surprised to see it happen once or twice this week as well.

Latest stats as of 5 pm mountain

Not all countries reporting any changes but the US. We’ve jumped up from a little less than 50,000 to 53,268 cases.

Dead now at 696 (most in New York City, King, Washington and other places in New York)

1.3% rate.

I hope someone is keeping track of the spring breakers. Would be interesting to see how many of them come down with the virus.

No other country has jumped up as much as we have.

More cases…or probably just more testing.

As of right now, the CDC is reporting 44,183 known cases and 544 known deaths on their website.

That is a 1.23% known mortality rate.

9:44 pm mountain time, update.

Only a handful of countries with updates. Of those is the US.

55,041 confirmed cases, 790 dead.

1.4% rate.

Your source is 2 days behind.

This page will be updated regularly at noon Mondays through Fridays. Numbers close out at 4 p.m. the day before reporting.

And does not report all cases, unlike Johns Hopkins

† CDC is no longer reporting the number of persons under investigation (PUIs) that have been tested, as well as PUIs that have tested negative. Now that states are testing and reporting their own results, CDC’s numbers are not representative of all testing being done nationwide.

The Johns Hopkins map sees to report every 8 hours or so.

Why is the world wide death rate substantially higher?
