Now that’s an interesting notion. How long will Trumpism live on? I’ve heard competing arguments that are all compelling.

I think that Brit Hume said it well on Fox News this evening. He said that if you consider that half of Trump supporters are hard core loyal to him, he can say or do anything and they will continue to follow him. But the other half of his supporters are just regular Republicans who voted for him because they didn’t like Clinton. And today he just lost their vote. And if he had any designs on being elected POTUS in four years, that realization died today.

I tend to agree with that statement. I just can’t figure out what this was all about. He can’t have actually believed the electoral votes would change enough to allow him to have a second term. And if he had grudgingly but reasonably have accepted defeat this time he might have gotten the nomination in 2024.
The question is what he intends to do with that hard core group of loyalist supporters…for example try to control the party by threatening to have those who oppose him primaried?

Is it really hard to understand what he will do? He will do what he always does…

He will try to get every penny he can from them then throw them away like trash…
