You know what strikes me as funny? For years hoplophobes have been saying that the 2nd Amendment would be meaningless against a tyrannical government. That any movement would be crushed.

I don’t know why any conservatives continue to think this is a gotcha question.

I’m against all violent protests, support peaceful protests and always support your right to protest even if your cause is stupid.

But storming the capitol while congress is performing and their consitutional duty is even more distrubing to me.

Just like a pilot killing themselfs by taking a plan full of passengers into the ocean is terrible, hijacking a plan and crashing it into the pentagon is worse.

Kind of makes one wonder if it might have been a setup, doesn’t it. Why were multiple requests by the Capitol Police for additional manpower to deal with the expected large crowd rejected? Someone needs to explain that. It’s as though someone wanted to make it easy for people to breach the barriers and enter the building. Even a modest supplement of crowd control officers protecting the building would have stopped this incident before it occurred.

The answers are out there.

Homeland didn’t want to send federal officers because of optics.

Trump adminstration denied the request for national guard the day before

And capitol police completely underestimated the need and the leaders have been fired.

But I suspect you will still reject that and go with set up
