Tim Scott (R-SC) announces exploratory committee for 2024 presidential bid

Let’s see if the discussion about this can be about more than just race. Two candidates from South Carolina now in GOP field.

“I’ve been doing a lot of thinking the past few months,” Scott wrote. “I’ve been thinking about my faith. I’ve been thinking about the future of our country. And I’ve been thinking about the Left’s plan to ruin America.”
In the Fox interview, Scott did not attack other potential Republican rivals, saying “the field of play is focused in on President Biden’s failures.”

The exploratory committee news was first reported by the Post and Courier of Charleston.

As Breitbart News reported, Scott has been flagging the possibility of a 2024 White House tilt for some time.

I’d vote against him of course, but I’d much prefer him over Trump or Desantis.

I have a tremendous amount of admiration for Tim Scott…

Given what I know now I would have no problem supporting him. He brings optimism, isn’t packing around the excess baggage, I’m no expert on his senate record but I certainly haven’t seen anything coming from him to turn me off.

My only concern is electing a senator…Senators don’t have a background in running things the way governors do.

At this point I’d prefer either him, or DeSantis or Hailey over Trump.

Ironic…as OP brings race into it.

And how did the OP do that ?

Why did you even brought up race unless that is precisely what you wanted.

its trump, than far back to desantis and way back to the rest.

Allan

Of course you would which is all the more reason we (gop) should go with either Trump or Desantis.

it like the GOP people who wanted Gabbard in 2020.

everyone from the other party likes the 2%ers from the other party.

I wouldnt vote for him if you paid me.

I disagree, respectfully.

I’m not even sure whether you’re being sarcastic, which is kinda sad

I’m not sure you realized what you did.

Yep. I questioned whether or not another poster was being sarcastic.

you immediately assumed the discussion would be about race. at least in part. why?

Well, look at the Clarence Thomas thread for clues on that. Happy to be proven wrong though.

no answer? just “go look for clues?”
