It wasn’t oil companies that restrict pipelines and put large areas off limit from drilling. They have a thing going called competition. Stop threatening them with imagined preventing internal combustion engines that won’t happen and we will have more refineries.

If a particular oil company can produce more it can sell more. That is motivation enough. What do you think is the limit the market can bear? Supply and demand, plus the cost of production, determines the price of commodities.
