I guess I don’t get the hubbub or believe they’ll get costs down if they’re trying to compete with the big boys. Article seems like an ad for a new processor more than anything. Anyone interested already got a deep freezer and a farmers market or friend connection, everyone else happy with those walmart choice cuts.

I do. The processing plant will be a separate business entity, probably an LLC partnership with each partner getting a cut of the processing plant profit depending how much each invested. They will still buy the cattle, even if it is from themselves. So will they pay more per pound and get more revue as the rancher or will they collect the profit as the processing plant? My guess is they will keep the same price the big corporations pay so if a rancher that did not invest in the plant wanted to sell to their processing plant they would want to maximize the processing plants profits…
