This is perfect example of why many knelt during the National Anthem

I don’t. Even though she means well, her display is not appropriate. She is not making an attempt do disrespect. But she in clueless of flag code. I’m only offended at the fact that we don’t teach flag code. So most people are clueless. There is no doubt that she means well. She is not protesting.

No he didn’t. He took a knee for those slain wrongfully by cops. Like Tamir Rice. Daniel Shaver. Eric Garner.

He didn’t protest the flag. He protested when people were singing a song about the flag while looking at the flag.

I lead the National Anthem many Friday nights during football season, and I do it proudly. I stand every morning with my students and say the pledge. I don’t assume that someone who doesn’t participate in those events with me each time hates America, or the flag. No, the suggestion that those people are socialists who hate America and the flag is the world’s stupidest defense.

Neither are kneelers. If we’re going by intent, then you’ve just demolished any further arguments toward kneelers you could make.

Checkmate.

But it’s not. That’s what actually happened. There’s no spin there.

You betcha. For example, I can remember all those dumb threads about “liberalism” created by people who weren’t liberals.

Certainly no shortage of threads like that around these parts. For example:

Thank you for calling attention to my thread and the wisdom of my comments… I certainly appreciate it. :slightly_smiling_face::+1:

I was calling attention to the irony of posting that thread followed by saying “They assume to know what conservatives mean without even asking.”

That was quite clear. The irony is rich.

That was to draw attention at a key ceremony to police brutality…hardly useful to take a knee during the game or in the locker room, is it? Peaceful protest is totally American.

It failed. Millions of Americans think that if you do a flag protest it means that you are anti American. He has a million ways to protest Po-leece brutality, which is incredibly rare. But he chose to protest the flag instead. Which is why he is not employed in the NFL right now.

you assume to know what Kap is protesting even though he told you what he is protesting.

How has it failed? Police abuse is being talked about. More people are pulling out their phones and recording abuse. FINALLY, some of these thugs are being held accountable. More work needs to be done, but it’s a start. Perhaps that is what upsets some on the Right…that abusers are finally being held accountable.

Don’t know that for sure.

Example guy driving didn’t have a licese, he was let go with a citation. We don’t know what all was on the citation.

probably driving without a license.

I assume to know that Kap took a knee for the flag then claimed it had nothing to do with the flag. Taking a knee for the flag is not a way to bring attention to the fact that the U.S. still has some bad people living here. It’s simply an asinine way to do this. If Kap wanted to point out that we still have bad people, why did he choose to insult all freedom loving Americans? Because he was looking for a fight. Nothing more. And he knew his NFL career was dying.

this is hilarious coming from the guy who just criticized people for “assuming to know what conservatives mean.” not a good look.

That’s NOT what she said.

Lets compare headlines:

What we got:

4-year old has gun pointed at her for shoplifting a doll.

What is should have been:

Family that fled after shoplifting questioned by police.

And if the Media wasn’t in such an all fired hurry (aka look at this incriminating cell phone video!!!), they would HAVE more facts and could report accurately.

opinion noted

They were highly insightful threads.

Some people observe libs in action…much like watching monkeys on monkey island.

Funny what you can see when you stand back and just observe.
