Whatever Bobert’s or anyone else’s motivation may be, it is long past time for any ownership rights in that mouse to go. We have already changed our copyright laws wrongly to benefit Disney and Universal at the expense of the public.
If our payed off politicians had existed throughout History we would still have Shakespeare copyrighted.

I am against special benefits for companies, but not as a punishment for opinions.

What should be most disturbing here is that Disney lobbyists are already scheming to have billions of dollars handed to them by Congress for free, again. Well, not entirely free. Congress will want its share in the way of kickbacks.

Yes. Or foreigners. Or people/parties in one state for elections of offices in another state.

All good.
Me, I’d federalize election funding, and take all donations out of the equation, but I suspect that is too far for most. But I’m good with everything you’ve suggested.

Just not because of political retribution.
Me too, but we will never see it.

Yep.
Citizens United sucks.
I’d do the UK model.
Federal elections are federally funded.
Limit the length of campaigns.
No returns until all the votes are counted.
That’s a big one. I’d especially like to see some limits on the primaries. Campaign season is interminable, making candidates more dependent on outside money.

Why should my tax dollars fund Pelosi. No.
I agree with length of campaigns and the returns.
