The wealthy nations need to be ramping up the international effort to get as many people vaccinated as possible.

It is in our own interests to do so.

We have been trying. It’s not working. People decided months ago whether or not to get a shot. The begging and pleading has not worked at all.

No they have not. There have been several spikes in vaccinations in areas where vaccination was low. Including areas where Delta is raging.

Lets take Texas for example.

Texas has 46 time more people then Vermont.

If you divide number of people to new cases of Vermont you have 69 cases per Vermont pop. Vermont recorded 89 yesterday. Texas only has 50 percent vaccination.

Texas has 42 cases per 100K and .20 deaths per 100K.

Vermont has 12 cases per 100K and .05 deaths per 100K.

Vermont pop is 623,989 with 89 new cases yesterday…vaccination percentage 73.7

Ohio pop is 11,689,100 with with 1,269 new cases…vaccination percentage is 49.9

Ohio has 19 times the pop of Vermont but yet only 14 percent of new cases.

Can you explain that one for me?

It’s easier to look a the average cases per 100K.

OH is 15 with .08 deaths per 100K.

VT is 12 and .05.

Not much of a difference, but VT is still faring better.

You are incorrect about TX. They have more infections per 100K in population (7 day average).

Fact are facts. Vermont with pop of 624 thousand had 89 new cases yesterday. Texas had 69 cases out of 624 thousand people…and Texas has twice the pop density with 1/3 less vaccination rate.

Are you using daily case counts or the 7 day average? I’m using the NTY 7 day moving average Which would smooth out any anomalies. Some counties don’t report every day etc…

It’s pretty tough to sell TX is doing better than VT.

Or work on boosting vaccination rates if you are worried about migrants. That could work.
