The Walking Dead Final Episodes

The Walking Dead returned last night with the first of its final eight episodes.

Anyone planning to watching them?

Used to enjoy it.

Havenā€™t watched for last 4 years or so. When they killed off Rick Grimes I lost interest.

Yeah. I am irritated with how they drove that franchise into the ground, but I am invested in seeing it through.

Yup. In an age of anti heroes, I really liked having a straight up ā€˜heroā€™, albeit in difficult circumstances

I use to love it, to me it went downhill fast somewhere win whatever season it was where Glenn Rhee survived only to be bludgeoned to death at the end of the season. I think that was season 7. I was already losing interest before that I hung around for awhile longer I havenā€™t watched it any since Rick Grimes died. I always said if Grimes or Dixon died I would quit watching it I havenā€™t seen it since. To me personally the show peaked around season 4 and declined as a whole since.

One of the more odd things they did was to age and slow down the zombies. I understood the concept. They over did it and the zombies were less threatening.

I fell off the bandwagon a long time ago. Last episode I remember watching involved that dudeā€™s pet tiger getting eaten by a bunch of zombies.

I was so burned out at that point. Havenā€™t seen a single episode since.

Todayā€™s the final episode of The Walking Dead.

Iā€™m sad to see the show ends, but Iā€™m looking forward to the spinoff shows in The Walking Dead Universe.

I guess itā€™s okay, because the franchise can basically be unlimited.

The original formula for the show was getting stale: clues to the identity of the new Big Bad, Big Bad does some bad stuff, we learn who the Big Bad is, characters do stupid things, ban together to fight the Big Bad, win against the Bid Bad, but itā€™s a pyrrhic victoryā€¦clues to the identity of the new, new Big Badā€¦

These last couple of seasons, I have watched for the characters more than anything elseā€¦despite the fact that almost all of my favorites are dead and gone.

BTW, if you like zombie shows, and havenā€™t watched it already, check out Black Summer on Netflix. Itā€™s the zombie shie TWD wished it could be.

Same here I got out of it sometime after that South Korean guy died and then came back to life and died again. That wasnā€™t the reason I quit watching it just seemed clear to me at that point the good writing was gone and they were just milking the franchise.

Many good shows went out that way.

I stuck around thinking they would bring him back. Spoiler, they donā€™t. Spoiler again, it sucks.

Same. Sadly.

Then all of a sudden, theyā€™re a threat again. The last one I watched, they were starting to open doors. Brain dead zombies opening doors?! The nerve!!

Iā€™ll check that out.

Really? In these final episodes? I havenā€™t watched 'em yet. Planning a binge for the holidays.

Anyway, it wouldnā€™t surprise if they evolve the zombies as a hook for the new spin offs.

Sorry, not trying to spoil it for you. I think Iā€™m on ep 22 of the final season. Oh wait, the writers did that long ago, never mind. The plot sucks, the characters suck, I just want it to end with everyone dying in a fiery hell!!

Z Nation on Netflix is far better. In the Z Nation universe the apocalypse is a lot more fun. They harvest zombie brains for a substance survivors smoke and get high on.

Going to watch it on-demand because for some reason it pixalates bad and only that channel. Probably watch tonight.

Nah. I like my zombie shows to be serious. Z-Nation is a fun watch, but no way is if ā€œfar betterā€.

TWD is the same rinse and repeat story line season after season with very little world building built into the narrative.

But I get it that it was insanely popular and my opinion is the minority.

For anyone who loves zombie stories I highly recommend Brian Keenes The Rising followed by Dead City.
