Opinion articles and shows should be labeled as such. And us consumers should be then take those opinions as they are and not as facts (or all of the facts)

I think that would tread into violation of the 1A. Let them make fools of themselves. We can refute them/tune them out if need be.

That’s my opinion. Media can really opine, bloviate and influence whatever they choose. Viewers/ listeners are either going to swallow the propagandized swill or go find out for themselves. They can go with the narrative or call BS. Right now it’s still a free country.

We aren’t. We are listening to Tucker Carlson and Chris Cuomo and nodding our heads.

Sadly, that is true. I think celebrity worship is a problem, as well.

The CEC would be out of business fast…

I don’t think anybody worships them, we just love the confirmation bias.

Exactly. Freedom of the press.

Okay since the media is the problem in your opinion

@WuWei what is the solution to the problem.

Censorship?

Allan

I already addressed “censorship” . Are you ok?

I can agree with that to an extent. But why are they glamorized like they are?

Not the root cause. The diabolical leftists took over the media. One would need to go down that path - determining how leftists gained such control- to determine “THE PROBLEM”. Whatever the root cause, in our journey to discover it, we would spend alot of time on the judicial system. The leftists took that over too. And that is why Trump’s nomination of conservative justices and judges is causing the leftists to go berzerk… decades and decades of their anti-American decisions are in jeopardy.

But root cause? Even that isn’t. The “problem” is something sociological and maybe inevitable in our growth… like getting our second set of teeth. Or if one considers the perversion of classical liberalism into this thing called “progressive liberalism” - which is almost the opposite of classical liberalism - a sociological disease, then the cause may be contagion from other extant pockets of this disease from elsewhere in the world.

By us? We need them to be credible to justify using them to confirm our bias. And my guy needs to be more credible than yours or I lose.

By the networks? For profit by convincing us they are the above.

The consumer is the best censor. The problem is, many in that business are too condescending and narcissistic to take constructive criticism.

The right is just as guilty in the media.

Agreed.

Okay so no censorship.

What in your opinion is the solution to the media problem?

If it’s as big a problem that you make it out to be.

What is the solution.

Or is there no solution and we will continue as is?

Allan

Ah so we already have free market censorship.

Just not enough of it.

Allan

Human nature, instant gratification, laziness, confirmation bias, intellectual irresponsibility, etc is the root of the problem.

The media has mastered exposing this for their gain. Sometimes is monetary, other times it is the desire to control the narrative or persuade opinion.

Interesting point. I also think it is indicative of the entertainment culture we live in. We want to be entertained and the entertainers love the attention. You could almost say that the entertainment age overshadows the information age.

How do our betters in the media take to being censored/refuted by those of us that they feel are below them?
